20-Year History
In 2002, Matthew Porter and Craig McElroy launched a software development side hustle that would grow into Contegix, evolving from its early days as Atlassian’s first cloud to becoming a Platinum Solutions Provider for clients using Atlassian applications.
Today, the team supports various clients, from small private companies to Fortune 500s, and most recently organizations within the public sector, in their DevOps adoption. Headquartered in St. Louis, MO, Contegix operates as a remote team, with over 200 employees dedicated to bringing custom IT consulting services to its clients.

Our History
Porter receives a phone call at 2:17 a.m. from a customer upset about a software failure triggered by full hard drives. While no fault of Porter and McElroy, solving the situation sparks a new focus on providing hosting services for clients as well as writing and deploying software.
After writing a software plug-in for an early client, Atlassian, Contegix onboards Atlassian as a hosting client, operating as Atlassian’s first cloud.
New client services are added to the Contegix portfolio, including the enterprise cloud computing offering, Project Zeus.
Strattam Capital makes a majority growth investment in Contegix. David Turner joins the team as CEO and Mathew Porter assumes the role of Vice Chairman. Together, they lead the company into its next growth phase.
Contegix acquires Equip, an Atlassian professional services provider. This announcement marks the company’s fourth acquisition in two years.
Contegix acquires Ascend Integrated to further expand secure DevOps solutions offerings, making the team the leading Atlassian Government Solutions partner.
Contegix is celebrating 20 years in business!
